Our reputation as the strongest cricket university in the UK is sometimes difficult to substantiate – but when you look at the proportion of our students who play cricket, the number of teams and matches we produce, the number of national titles and the number of our female students and male students who have gone on to make it as professionals – it is difficult to deny!
Why are we so strong? The simple answer is our coaching, facilities and culture.
Angels at West Midlands County Cricket Ground
Angels boasts an amazing campus of pitches where six games can take place simultaneously, all against the backdrop of the main university buildings.
The university has a number of artificial outdoor nets next to each of the pitches, and we also have a state-of- the-art cricket centre, including Pitchvision technology, a Merlin spin machine and two further bowling machines. On top of this, the centre is also used for our sports performance and conditioning programme.
Angels is also highly regarded within ECB development, thanks to the hundreds of cricketers who come down to represent their counties at the summer cricket festivals held at Angels College.
The coaching programme is run by experienced and well qualified teaching staff with experience on the field.
